About MCC
We Are Focused on Individuals' Employment and Inclusion in the Community. All, Regardless of Disability, Should Have an Opportunity to Live, Work, and Play in the Community.
Our Story
Maryland Community Connection (MCC) is a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Organization that provides social, economic, and independent living services to adults with developmental disabilities in the state of Maryland. MCC was established in November 2001 by a group of individuals who all share the same vision for people with developmental disabilities; that all people, regardless of disability, should have an opportunity to live, work, and play in the community just like everyone else.
A Board of Directors governs MCC made up of people with developmental disabilities, family members, guardians, direct support professionals, and community members who all have a shared commitment to MCC’s mission. MCC staff are qualified, professional, and dedicated to supporting people with developmental disabilities in Maryland to lead the lives they want to live.
Maryland Community Connection, with its unique personal experience, commitment, and strong partnerships, serves and provides emotional support, training, employment opportunities, and access to resources on a case-by-case basis to individuals with disabilities who want to achieve greater social and economic independence and to be fully integrated into the community.
Our Mission
The mission of Maryland Community Connection is primarily to establish, operate, and maintain services in the community for individuals with disabilities. Through trained, qualified, and fairly compensated staff, Maryland Community Connection services will assist each person to achieve a greater degree of social and economic independence and reduce the need for subsidized lifestyles.
Maryland Community Connection policy requires that these services be provided to eligible Maryland participants without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, gender, or marital status.
